In the evening of May 4th , 2017, hosted by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, Ministry of Education, Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, organized by CCTV, “May Flowers Inspiring Dreams of the Youth” National University Students Art Show participated by SDNU students was held in CCTV No.1 Studio. As the main unit of the “May Flowers” dance group, 30 students from Department of Dance and School of Music participated in “Dreamer”, “Look Back to the Day”, “Happy Song”, “The Decoration”, “In your Great Embrace” and other important performances. It was the fifth time for SDNU to participate in this show. The persons in charge of School of Music and the School Youth League Committee made a special trip to Beijing to visit teachers and students and watched the performance.

In the singing and dancing show “Dreamer”, SDNU students completed the dance part on their own. They turned into smart puppets, and expressed yearning and pursuit of the dream. In the dance show “Look Back to the Day” and the singing and dancing show“ The Decoration”, students expressed the praise of modern youth towards Anti-Japanese War Heroes using an artistic way, showing the strong determination of the young generation that they would not forget the original intention and they would learn from the role models. In the singing and dancing show “Happy Song”, SDNU students dressed in gorgeous and colorful ethnic costumes danced to the beat on the stage, conveying the heartfelt wishes of great unity of 56 ethnic groups and the great spirit of living long and prosperously of the Chinese nation. Finally, young students of SDNU sang the song “In Your Great Embrace” together with other students from more than 60 universities who also participated in the performances, expressing their deep love for the great motherland, which brought the show to a climax.

More than 1,800 outstanding college students from 60 universities participated in 2017 “May Flowers Inspiring Dreams of the Youth” National University Students Art Show. The whole show was not only a brilliant campus art exhibition, but also a great gala of cultural exchange for universities nationwide.
