Recently, the 2022 ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge (ASC22) announced the competition results. A team consisting of five undergraduate students, Li Shuo, Dong Fanglong and Liu Luyao, Ji Guangjie and Huo Yongkang from the School of Information Science and Engineering of SDNU, under the guidance of Wang Tianyi, won the second prize.
The ASC21-22 Student Supercomputer Challenge attracted more than 1,700 undergraduates from 300 teams worldwide, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Warsaw, to register for the challenge.
This is the first time for undergraduates of SDNU to participate in the ASC. The challenge started on January 6th and lasted for two months. The instructors used their professional expertise to provide pre-competition training for the students and took the initiative to contact resources outside SDNU to provide support.
The ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge, which has been held annually since 2012, is one of the top three supercomputing competitions in the world, along with ISC (International Supercomputing Conference)and SC(Conference series- Student Cluster Competition). The competition aims to promote the exchange and cultivation of young supercomputing talents among countries and regions through the platform of the competition, enhance the level of supercomputing applications, bring into play the scientific and technological driving force of supercomputing, and promote scientific and industrial innovation.
