On October 15th, Seminar on Teaching and Research of Master of Translation (Japanese) was held in SDNU. Xiu Gang, deputy director of Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of Ministry of Education, Yao Dongfang, director of Shandong Cooperation and Exchange Research Center with Japan, researchers from more than 20 universities and Akhiko Noda and Chie Matsumoto attended the seminar. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ge Yunfeng.

In his speech, Xiu gang congratulated the Japanese major of SDNU for being approved as the enrollment unit of Master of Japanese Translation and Interpreting (MTI) in 2020. He pointed out that the talents training was an important project and the education program should be well built.

Xiu Gang, Xu Bin and Li Guangzhen gave their speeches respectively. Yao Dongfang, Shi Weiguo, Zhu Pengxiao, Chen Duoyou, Yang Ling, Yu Fei and other experts had discussions on different topics. It is agreed that the construction of Japanese major needs to find the right orientation, combine with the national strategy, and make good connections with domestic and foreign resources, so as to realize the reform and innovation of Japanese education.
