On June 11th,"NewIdeas, New Practice, New Resources-Seminaronthe Ideological and Political Construction of Foreign Languages Courses in the New Context of LiberalArts"was heldin Changqinghu Campus. The seminar was organized by the School of Foreign Languages of SDNU. Wang Chuankui, the Vice President of SDNU attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.More than2000experts and academics from more than200universities and unitsin Chinaparticipated in the conference through a combination of online and offline. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Zhuo, the Director of the School of Foreign Languages .
At the opening ceremony, Wang Chuankui congratulated the conference andwelcomed the experts, scholars and guests who attended the seminar. He introduced the basic situation of SDNU and also affirmedtheachievements of the School of Foreign Languages in curriculum construction, professional construction, academic platform construction and international and domestic academic conferences.
Hu Kaibao, the professor of Shanghai International Studies University, introduced the background and purpose of the establishment of the Professional Development Committee for Foreign Languages. He stressed that teachers are the most important factors in curriculum thinking politics and they are supposed to love work, love academia and love their students.
The professorsmade keynote speeches successively. Theydiscussed the ideological and political construction offoreign languagescurriculum in the new context of the liberalarts.
During the course presentation phase, the public English teaching team of SDNU (the team of Han Bing & Chen Linlin) and the integrated English teaching team of SDNU (the team of Wang Xiuxiang & Liu Yan) conducted a teaching demonstration. The experts and academics commented on the spot.
