On the morning of April 30th, the launching ceremony and seminar of "Universities Serving Rural Revitalization and Exploring Rural Aesthetic Practice" was held in Shaojialing Village in Liuyu Town, Pingyi County in Linyi City, Shandong Province. Scholars and experts from Renmin University of China, Nankai University, Shandong Normal University, Linyi University and relevant departments in Shandong Province gathered together to discuss the progress and future development of the project of "Aesthetic Design Helping Rural Revitalization", taking the rural "aesthetic practice" carried out in the village by Liu Dongfeng, deputy director of the School of Fine Arts of SDNU, and his team as the starting point.

Liu Dongfeng showed the experts the overall transformation effect of Shaojialing Village.

Liu Dongfeng added that industrial economy is the core of rural revitalization.

Cong Zhiqiang, an associate professor at School of Arts of Renmin University of China, and his team gave a comprehensive and in-depth review of the Xing Hua Island Project from the aspects of the project's excavation of the natural geographical resources of the village and the stimulation of the villagers' internal motivation. In addition, Gou Chengfu, Deputy Director of People’s Government of Shandong Province Research Office and Sun Xuejun, official of Marketing and Information Department of Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, gave full recognition to the project and made pertinent suggestions for the development of the project.

The next step of the project will continue to adhere to the proven practice of "university teachers and students come to the village to design and drive villagers to transform the village together", and will attract investment to accelerate the construction of the village with the help of external forces, so as to further explore the "school-local cooperation" model fordeveloping Shandong into a model of rural vitalization.
