On the afternoon of October 24th, SDNU held a symposium and unveiling ceremony for the construction of Shandong Province’s overseas business training base and foreign affairs think tank in Qianfoshan Campus. Sun Yebao, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Zhang Zhongying, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Shandong Institute of Macroeconomics, and Zhang Wenxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDNU attended the symposium and unveiled the base and research center.
Zhang Wenxin extended a warm welcome to Sun Yebao to guide the construction of the base and research center, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial Party Committee for its high concern and support for the SDNU's foreign affairs work over the years. SDNU will give full play to the advantages of international exchanges and traditional culture research resources, and effectively and deeply integrate pre-travel education on business with international communication research.
On behalf of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial Party Committee, Sun Yebao expressed his affirmation and appreciation for the SDNU's foreign affairs work achievements and the successful establishment of bases and research centers. He pointed out that SDNU is a window university for opening up and exchanges in our province, and it deserves its name to undertake the construction of bases and centers.
At the meeting, Zhang Zhongying, an off-campus expert from the research center, made a speech, and expressed her opinions on the importance of training before going abroad for business and international communication research; Guo Yufeng, director of the research center, introduced the SDNU's training platform, teacher team and site resources; Zhang Guanwen, deputy dean of the School of Journalism and Communication and deputy director of the research center, reported on the work plan to carry out research in the field of international communication power and foreign discourse system construction.
