From August 27thto 28th, SDNU welcomed more than 8,800 new students of 2022. The leaders visited the new students at the scene and inspected and guided the welcome work.

The leaders carefully inquired about the new student registration process, the progress of various work to welcome new students, went deep into the student dormitory and canteen to understand the accommodation and diet of new students, and solicited opinions and suggestions on life and other aspects.

This year, SDNU adopted closed management measures ,parents could not enter SDNU to accompany students through the enrollment procedures, and various units provided "one-on-one" and "one-stop" volunteer services for new students. SDNU sets up a buffer zone inside the gate, parents stop and go after driving into the campus, and volunteers are responsible for guiding students to report and carry the luggage. Teachers and students volunteered to welcome new students in the wind and rain, and volunteer service warmed people's hearts, and received unanimous praise from parents and new students.

On the day of the welcome, SDNU set up a new student registration service office to distribute love boxes to relevant students. The Prevention and Control Office has prepared sufficient anti-epidemic materials. The logistics and teaching management departments arrange special buses and volunteers to go to railway stations, long-distance bus stations and other pick-up stations to strengthen the guarantee of power supply, water supply and meal supply, and provide convenience for the majority of students. The information management department, together with relevant units, upgraded the digital welcome system, which greatly improved the efficiency of check-in.

Each college has prepared a variety of exciting and distinctive welcome cultural activities to bring new students a beautiful "first experience" of university life.

In 2022, SDNU admitted a total of 5976 full-time undergraduate students, 2748 master's students and 149 doctoral students. More than 10 off-campus media reporters organized in-depth on-site interviews with new students and made extensive and in-depth publicity reports.
