The School of Economics was founded in March 2011. In the past ten years, the School of Economics has achieved high-quality development. The discipline construction is more comprehensive, and outstanding achievements have been made in the aspects of theoretical economics talents, scientific research and specialty setting.
In 2018, SDNU became the only provincial university with a doctoral program in theoretical economics. Nowadays, the School of Economics has a complete training system, distinctive teaching features and obvious disciplinary advantages. The faculty is strong.
The college carefully creates a good environment for retaining and using talents. At present, the scale of the faculty is gradually expanding, the achievements of high-level academic research are constantly emerging, the ability to serve the society is constantly enhanced, and the structure of undergraduate major is constantly improved.
In 2014, the school cooperated with Shanghai Futures Exchange and opened the major of finance. In 2012, the first-level discipline of theoretical economics ranked 67th in China, 8th in China’s normal colleges and 2nd in Shandong Province.
In March 2018, SDNU was authorized to establish a doctoral program in first-level discipline of theoretical economics. The School of Economics has taken multiple measures and gradually formed its educational characteristics with the goal of cultivating all-round application-oriented professionals. The School of Economics has opened 16 online courses. Since 2016, it has won provincial awards for many times. The School of Economics attaches great importance to cultivating students'; comprehensive quality. In recent years, the postgraduate enrollment rate of undergraduates has increased steadily, and the employment rate has remained high for a long time.
Internationalized school running is also on the rise. It continues to promote internationalized school running, forming a good atmosphere of internationalization. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of SDNU, the School of Economics will continue its efforts.
