On August 26th, Zhu Jiankang, academician of the American Academy of Sciences and director of the ShanghaiPlant Biology of Adversity Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited SDNU. Tang Zhouyan, vice chairman of the provincial CPPCC and secretary of theParty Committee of SDNU, met the guests and had a discussion. Vice President Wang Chuankui participated in the meeting.
Zhu Jiankang introduced the operation and achievements of Shunfeng Gene Editing Research Institute since its establishment, and thanked Shandong Normal University for the support. he also expressed his views on the pursuit of academic innovation and the promotion of scientific and technological progress. He said that Shandong Normal University has formed its own advantages and characteristics , and hoped that the two sides will further enhance exchanges and cooperation, and work hand in hand to achieve win-win results.
Tang Zhouyan welcomed Zhu Jiankang, thanked him for his guidance and help in the construction and development of the biology discipline for a long time, and hoped that the two sides would actively explore the best point of cooperation and better serve the regional economic and social development. At the same time,he hoped that Academician Zhu Jiankang would put forward more valuable suggestions on scientific research, personnel training, and the transformation of achievements so as to help SDNU speed up the construction of "double peaks" and "double first-class".
