From December 9th to 10th, “2019 International Chinese Education Conference” was held in Changsha,Hunan Province. Sun Chunlan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Zeng Qingliang,president of SDNU, was invited to participate in the conference.
The conference commended the Confucius Institute’s advanced Chinese cooperation organization, advanced Confucius Institute. SDNU was awarded the title of “Confucius Institute’s Advanced Chinese Cooperation Organization”. Meanwhile,the Confucius Institute jointly built by SDNU and Para State Universityin Brazil(UEPA)was awarded the title of “Advanced Confucius Institute”,which is the first time that Confucius Institute of SDNU has won the award.
Since the establishment of the first Confucius Institute with Woosuk University in 2009, SDNU has built four Confucius Institutes with famous universities in South Korea, Kenya, the United States and Brazil. In this selection, SDNU is the only one in Shandong Province that receives the honor.
