On November 23rd, the 2019 annual meeting of Shandong Translation Association and the summit forum of language talent echelon construction in free trade zone was held in Qianfoshan campus of Shandong Normal University. This annual conference was sponsored by Shandong Translation Association, organized by School of Foreign Languages of Shandong Normal University and Shandong BesTrans Company, and co-organized by the editorial department ofS handong Foreign Language Teaching.
Yao Dongfang welcomed the experts and scholars attending the meeting in his speech. He pointed out that the meeting coincided with the establishment of Shandong Free Trade Zone, which will surely contribute wisdom and talents to the construction of Shandong Free Trade Zone, and further help the social development of our province.
There were 10 keynote speeches at the meeting. Ambassador Chen Mingming was invited to give a key speech. The other nine experts made speeches on translation theory and practice issues such as the cultivation of master's degree in translation, the in-depth integration of translation technology and translation education, and school-enterprise cooperation.
At the meeting, the online training platform for translators in Shandong Province was released, and the MTPE competition and Logo Competition of Shandong Translation Association were held.
