On October 13th, Zhang Wenxin, deputy secretary of the Party committee of SDNU, met Peter Smith,Professor of London University, academician of the British Academy of Social Sciences, and Dorothy Espelage, Professor of the University of North Carolina and academician of the National Academy of Education Sciences respectively in Qianfoshan campus to deepen future academic exchanges and cooperation.
During the meeting with Professor Smith, Zhang Wenxin expressed his warm welcome and sincere thanks for his coming to attend the International Academic Conference on bullying prevention and intervention, and he introduced the discipline construction, cooperative research, international exchange and cooperation of SDNU and the school of psychology. He said that Professor Smith is a world-renowned expert in the field of International Campus bullying research, a pioneer and founder of the research field in the world, and his academic ideas and works have a wide and far-reaching impact on the world. He knew Professor Smith in 1998 and has been maintaining academic contacts. He hoped to take this opportunity to discuss practical and effective ways of cooperation. Zhang Wenxin sincerely invited Professor Smith to join the research team of the school of psychology, hoping to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation with high-level experts and scholars in the world, so as to jointly push the research in the field of bullying on campus into depth. He hoped that Professor Espelage would continue to care about and support the academic development of the school of psychology,and he welcomed her to participate in the academic exchange of the school of psychology and the campus bullying research center in an appropriate way.Professor Espelage expressed her appreciation for the achievements of SDNU in the research of developmental psychology and looked forward to the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the future.
