On May 24th, the seminar on the construction of primary education in Shandong Province and the founding conference of the Department of Primary Education of Shandong Normal University was held in Qianfoshan Campus. Wang Huanbin and Wang Zhitian attended the conference. A total of 19 primary education professionals and basic education representatives from 14 colleges and universities in the province attended the conference. The conference was chaired by Lu Shuhong, Assistant Director of Education Faculty of SDNU.

Wang Huanbin delivered a speech on behalf of SDNU. He said that Shandong Normal University has set up a complete educational system of pre-school education, primary education, secondary education, higher education and continuing education, and formed an educational theory personnel training system that integrates bachelor's degree, master's degree, doctor's degree and post-doctoral research. It is the only university in Shandong Province that has these two training systems at the same time. Based on more than 60 years of primary education teaching research and more than 10 years of training experience of master degree in primary education, the Education Faculty has established a department of primary education by taking advantage of its discipline advantages, teachers'advantages and curriculum advantages, which will promote the high-quality development of primary education.

Wang Zhitian fully affirmed the contributions of colleges and universities to basic education in Shandong Province. He hoped that Shandong Normal University would take the initiative to assume the responsibility of training outstanding primary school teachers and lead the construction and development of primary education.

Tang Aimin, Director of the School of Education of Qufu Normal University, congratulated on the establishment of the Department of Primary Education Shandong Normal University. He hoped that the experts and scholars of colleges and universities would work together and strengthen each other so as to contribute to the training of primary education professionals, academic research and social services in Shandong Province.

Finally, Xu Jiyun,Director of Education Faculty, made a concluding speech. He hoped that the colleges and universities in Shandong Province would cooperate with each other, learn from each other and support each other, strengthen research and exploration in all aspects of the training of primary education professionals, and jointly promote the improvement of the quality of primary education personnel training.
