On April 23rd, with the approaching of the 24th World Book and Copyright Day, Shandong Normal University celebrated the 8th Reading Festival with the theme of "Reading Classics and Praising the Motherland" in the libraries of the two campuses. The opening ceremony was held in the square outside the library of Changqinghu Campus. Wang Huanbin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDNU, attended the opening ceremony, delivered a speech and announced the opening of the Reading Festival. Song Yuxiang, Hu Zhongwei, Guo Junfeng and other guests were invited. The opening ceremony was chaired by Du Baoguo, the director of the library.
Wang Huanbin warmly congratulated the opening of the 8th Reading Festival. He said that the Chinese nation has a good tradition of advocating reading since ancient times. SDNU attaches great importance to the activities of the Reading Festival.It is hoped that with the joint efforts of theuniversity and the active participation of teachers and students, the Reading Festival will become a resounding brand in the construction of campus culture in Shandong Normal University. He hoped that the library, as the main force of campus reading promotion and the main window of campus culture construction, would give full play to its own advantages, explore and take the initiative in finding out campus cultural characteristics, enriching campus cultural connotation and broadening the ways of campus culture, so as to make due contributions to the construction of a civilized campus, and guide students to read more and better books.
At the opening ceremony, the leaders presented certificates and letters of appointment for the winners of "Shandong Normal University Civilized Readers" in 2018, the winners of "Excellent Library Volunteers" in 2018 and the members of the new volunteer association of the library.
