Recently, Bernhard Hommel, academician of the German Academy of Sciences and professor of psychology at Leiden University,Netherlands, came to SDNU for academic visit. Zhang Wenxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDNU,welcomed the visitors in Qianfoshan Campus.
Zhang Wenxin briefed the guests on the basic situation of SDNU and reviewed the history of psychology discipline in the past 30 years. He said that the School of Psychology is a young one, but in recent years, thanks to the promotion of internationalization of SDNU and the increase of research investment, the level of teaching and scientific research has been rapidly improved, and the school enjoys a high academic reputation at home and abroad. He stressed that Professor Bernhard Hommel is a world-renowned psychologist and academician of the German Academy of Sciences, this academic visit will provide new opportunities for the improvement of the level of psychology in SDNU.
As editor-in-chief of two international psychological journals,Bernhard Hommel said he was pleased to see that more and more high-quality academic papers have been written by Chinese scholars in recent years. He said that in just 15 years after its establishment, the School of Psychology of Shandong Normal University has made remarkable achievements in scientific research,he hoped to cooperate with colleagues of Shandong Normal University in academic fields.
