On March 26st, Zhang Wenxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDNU welcomed Jane Kay,the Cooperation Commissioner in China and language testing expert from the University of Waterloo, Canada in Qianfoshan Campus.
On behalf of SDNU, Zhang Wenxin welcomed the guests and briefly reviewed the achievements of the exchanges between the two universities in the past ten years from the aspects of teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation, he then thanked Jane Kay for her support and help. He said that University of Waterloo is a world-renowned university, which has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the development of science and technology in Canada and even in the world. Zhang Wenxin pointed out that SDNU attaches great importance to internationalization of SDNU, foreign languageslearning and teaching have become the key links in the process of internationalization. Foreign languages teaching at home and abroad should actively integrate with the world and cooperate with world-renowned universities, including University of Waterloo. It is hoped that the two universities will continue to strengthen their cooperation in a wider range of disciplines.
Jane Kay thanked SDNU for the warm reception. She said that Shandong Normal University is an important partner of University of Waterloo in China. It has a strong academic background and strong educational and scientific research strength. Over the years,SDNU has sent many excellent students to University of Waterloo. She said that she was very honored to cooperate with Shandong Normal University in many disciplines and hoped to strengthen exchanges with Shandong Normal University in language teaching and improving students'academic writing ability in the future.
