On March 14th,SDNU held the ninth undergraduate education and teaching conference in Changqinghu Campus. Gao Lei, Director of Higher Education Department of Shandong Provincial Education Department together with the staff of the whole department, members of the leading group of SDNU, all members of the SDNU teaching supervisory group, representatives of famous teachers at or above the provincial level, secretaries of teaching units, vice-secretaries, Deputy Directors in charge of teaching work, teaching secretaries attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Wenxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDNU.
During the conference, Gao Lei warmly congratulated on the meeting. He put forward several requirements. Firstly, we should accurately determine the training specifications of undergraduate talents in the new era. Secondly, we should give full play to the supporting role of disciplines in professional construction and personnel training. Thirdly, we should use advanced concepts and modern technology to reform teaching contents and methods, promote the integration of teaching and academic research, and combine teaching with solving problems so as to become a good teacher with ideal and faith, moral sentiment, solid knowledge and benevolence.
In his speech, Shang Zhixiao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, put forward specific requirements for the future undergraduate education and teaching. Firstly, deepen understand and constantly strengthen the central position of talent cultivation. We should deepen our understanding of the mission of higher education and always adhere to the correct orientation of running university and the orientation of educating people. We should deepen our understanding of the profession of teachers and devote ourselves to teaching and educating people.Secondly,highlight the quality and constantly improve the level of personnel training.Thirdly, strengthen leadership and constantly cohere the joint efforts of personnel training.
Vice President Man Baoyuan gave a report on the topic of "facing the new era, meeting the new needs, speeding up the construction of first-class undergraduate education and improving the ability and quality of personnel training in an all-round way". This report reviews and summarizes the main achievements of undergraduate education and teaching in our university in the past six years, it also analyses the opportunities and challenges at present, and puts forward ideas and measures for future work.
