On March 11th, Professor Ceri Phillips, Director of the School of Humanities and Health Sciences, Swansea University, visited SDNU. Zhang Wenxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, met the visitors in Qianfoshan Campus. Both sides reviewed the past exchanges and cooperation achievements, and held in-depth discussions on further expanding the multi-form joint training of students in the humanities and Health Sciences between the two universities, scientific research cooperation of high-level talents and joint declaration of international scientific research projects, which reached a high degree of consensus in many aspects.
Zhang Wenxin warmly welcomed the guests, he said that since the establishment of friendly and cooperative relations in 2012, both sides have made close contacts and joint efforts to carry out various intercollegiate exchange projects in various disciplines, which have received unanimous praise from teachers and students. He highly praised the substantive exchanges between the two sides and expressed his heartfelt thanks for the support and care provided by Swansea University. He pointed out that at present, SDNU is focusing on improving the level of international education, which is not only the development goal, but also the development path. He said that SDNU would give priority to developing cooperation with Swansea University in the next step. On this basis, the two sides would seek substantive cooperation in more advantageous disciplines.
The delegation thanked SDNU for the warm hospitality. Ceri Phillips said that Swansea University has been looking forward to this visit for a long time and made full preparations. He highly praised the importance SDNU attached to friendly exchanges with Swansea University. He recalled that the teachers and students of SDNU showed excellent ability and positive attitude in the exchange and cooperation between the two universities, which brought a unique cross-cultural experience to Swansea University. He agreed with Zhang Wenxin's proposals for future cooperation between the two universities and his views on the internationalization of higher education. He said that Swansea University, like SDNU, will take the development of substantive international cooperation among high-level overseas universities as an important task of the university. SDNU has become one of Swansea University's overseas strategic partners. He hoped that he would continue to consolidate the exchanges with SDNU and at the same time expand higher level and deeper international cooperation in Humanities and health sciences such as psychology.
