On February 24th, the 2018 Annual Meeting of Shandong Key Laboratory of Adversity Plants was held in Qianfoshan Campus. Zeng Qingliang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SDNU received the experts . Wang Hongyu, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, Wang Chuankui, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, attended the opening ceremony of the annual academic conference.

ZhuJiankang, Academician of Shanghai Adversity Plant Biology Research Center,Liu Chunming from Institute of Crop Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences,Gong Zhizhong, Guoyan from China Agricultural University, Professor Lin Jinxing from College of Bioscience and Technology, Beijing Forestry University, Xia Guangmin from School of Life Sciences, Shandong University, and Huang Rongfeng from Institute of Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Researcher, Kong Hongzhi from Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Li Pinghua from College of Agriculture, Shandong Agricultural University, and other important experts and scholars in botany participated in the meeting. The experts listened to the reports on the basic situation of key laboratories in 2018, team building, scientific research projects and representative achievements, open topics, discipline building, academic exchanges and industry-university-research cooperation, etc. Yuan Fang, Zhang Yi, Sun Wei, Li Yuanyuan, Jia Yuejue, Zhang Luoyan and Qu Xiaojian respectively reported their scientific research work and academic plans, and accepted expert guidance and comments modestly. Experts at the meeting fully affirmed the work and achievements of Shandong Key Laboratory of Adversity Plants. They believed that the laboratory had a rare opportunity to seize the first-class discipline construction, whether in discipline construction, talent team, output of achievements, investment of funds, improvement of conditions and so on. Experts at the meeting suggested that laboratories should actively dock with the national "double first-class" construction and major development strategy, further highlight the characteristics and condense the direction, increase the introduction and training of high-level leading talents and young top-notch talents, strengthen the improvement of laboratory conditions, strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation with well-known research institutes at home and abroad, and play a good role in the platform and talents of the Institute of Gene Editing,improve the level of first-class discipline construction in biology in an all-round way.
