From 10th to 11th December, President of University of Gezira, Sudan, visited SDNU. Shang Zhixiao, Zhang Wenxin and Man Baoyuan met the visiting guests separately, and had talks on issues such as teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation, and reached a broad consensus on cooperation.
On December 11th, Shang Zhixiao and Zhang Wenxin met the visitors in Qianfoshan Campus. On behalf of SDNU, Shang Zhixiao warmly welcomed the President of University of Gezira , who led a delegation to visit SDNU for the first time. He hoped that the two universities would continue to maintain cooperation and promote more cooperation in the fields of Chinese teacher training, Arabic major and regional cultural research.
Zhang Wenxin put forward specific plans and requirements for the future cooperation between the two universities. He said that SDNU attached great importance to cooperation with the University of Gezira in Sudan. The School of Foreign Languages , College of International Education and Office of International Exchange and Cooperation should carefully design and actively follow up to provide a development platform and strong guarantee for teachers, students and scientific research cooperation between the two universities.
President of University of Gezira thanked SDNU for the warm reception, and briefly introduced the history of University of Gezira and the current situation of its discipline development. He said that the close exchanges between the two universities are a reflection of the deep friendship between the Sudan and China. He agreed with the ideas and plans put forward by Shang Zhixiao and Zhang Wenxin for the cooperation between the two universities. He said that in recent years, the upsurge of Chinese language and culture learning has arisen in Sudan. University of Gezira also plans to establish the major of Chinese language and culture. He hoped that Shandong Normal University will provide necessary help in terms of teachers to promote the spread of Chinese culture in Sudan and enhance the friendship between the two countries.
