On December 2nd, the boarding meeting Confucius Institute of Woosuk University ,South Korea was held in Qianfoshan Campus. The president of Woosuk University and Shang Zhixiao, Zhang Wenxin together with some board members attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Wenxin.
Before the meeting, Shang Zhixiao warmly received the guests from Woosuk University. Shang Zhixiao said that China and South Korea are close neighbours, The superior geographical position creates favorable conditions for the two countries to strengthen exchanges and cooperation. He hoped to take the opportunity of the visit of the delegation to SDNU to expand new areas of cooperation on the basis of the original cooperation between the two universities. The president of Woosuk University thanked SDNU for the warm reception. He said that South Korea has the closest relationship with Shandong Province. Since the establishment of friendly inter-university relations in 2000, Woosuk University and Shandong Normal University have exchanged closely and achieved satisfactory results. He believed that the two sides would achieve more cooperation results with Confucius Institute as a link.
At the meeting, Shang Zhixiao warmly congratulated the board of Confucius Institutes at Woosuk University on the successful meeting in SDNU. He also expressed his heartfelt thanks for the great importance that Woosuk University attached to the construction of Confucius Institutes and its full support for the international development of SDNU. He hoped that the two sides will brainstorm, open up new areas of cooperation, enhance the cooperation between the two universities, and provide more opportunities for the further development.
Members of the board voted and adopted the list of members of the new board of Confucius Institute at Woosuk University. The new board listened to the report on the work of Confucius Institute. Zhou Jiaxin, Chinese director of Confucius Institute at Woosuk University, reported to the board on the current courses offered by Confucius Institute and its characteristic cultural activities. He made plans for the next step from four aspects: improving teaching quality, expanding cultural exchanges, highlighting characteristic development and strengthening the exchanges between the two universities, and put forward the current difficulties and challenges.
