On November 8th, Professor Michael Siu, academician of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences and Vice President of the University of Windsor, came to visit SDNU and was employed as a lecture professor of SDNU. Shang Zhixiao and Zhang Wenxin welcomed him in Qianfoshan Campus.
On behalf of SDNU, Shang Zhixiao extended a warm welcome to Michael Siu for his visit. In his speech, Shang Zhixiao said that as a world-renowned analytical chemist, Academician Michael Siu enjoyed wide prestige and influence in Canada and the international scientific community, and he has made outstanding achievements in the field of analytical chemistry.Therefore ,SDNU invited him to serve as an overseas academic master of SDNU’s" Molecular and Nanoprobe" innovation and intellectual introduction base. It is a great honor for SDNU to cooperate with Academician Michael Siu.Through"111 Program" platform, SDNU should learn more from Academician Michael Siu and strengthen contacts and cooperation with Windsor University in Canada.It is hoped that through joint efforts,SDNU can make better achievements and promote the scientific research and discipline construction to a new level.
Zhang Wenxin said that SDNU would cooperate extensively with Academician Michael Siu in discipline construction, academic exchanges and personnel training.And he wished Academician Michael Siu a pleasant trip in China and SDNU.
Michael Siu expressed his gratitude to SDNU for the sincere invitation and warm welcome. Although it was the first time for him to visit SDNU, he had heard about the research direction and achievements of molecular and nanoprobe in SDNU. He looked forward to strengthening all-round exchanges and cooperation with SDNU through "111 Program" platform and achieving innovative research results.
