Shandong Normal University's Art Troupe ,invited by the headquarters of Hanban, went to Malaysia and Thailand and gave five successful performances. Over 10,000 people came to enjoy the performances. The leaders of the embassies and consulates abroad, teachers and students of foreign universities and middle schools, local government officials, overseas Chinese, overseas Chinese students and people from all walks of life attended the performances and gave warm praise to the splendid performances.
This is the seventh time that SDNU has participated in the tour. According to Zhou Lianyong, Director of Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and Director of Office of Confucius Institute Affairs of SDNU, the Art Troupe is composed of teachers and students from School of Music, School of Physical Education and School of Foreign Languages. In March 2018, after SDNU had applied to Hanban for the tour, Office of Confucius Institute Affairs started the preparatory work. The performance included folk music, dance, martial arts and so on. At the same time, in the performances of Malaysia and Thailand, programs reflecting local cultural elements were arranged, which played a positive role in further improving the performance effect.
