On May 4th, the 200th anniversary congress of commemorating the birth of Marx was held in the Great Hall of the people in Beijing. Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang,Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning, Zhao Leji, Han Zheng, Wang Qishan and other party and state leaders attended the conference.Xi Jinping gave an important speech. Shang Zhixiao, Secretary of Party Committee of SDNU and Gao Jiwen,director of School of Marxism attended the conference as the representatives of the second World Congresson Marxism.
From May 5th to 6th, the Second World Conference on Marxism was held in Beijing. With the theme of "Marxism and Human Community with Shared Destiny", the conference has gathered more than 1200 Chinese and foreign scholars from more than 30 countries all over the world to commemorate Marx's 200th birth . Shang Zhixiao attended the opening ceremony.
During the conference, Shang Zhixiao received a reporter's special interview.On May 7th, Guangming Daily published a report entitled "the light of Marxism illuminates the future"which wrote: "Shang Zhixiao, the Secretary of the Party committee of Shandong Normal University, says that the reason why Marx's thought is widespread and far-reaching lies in its power of truth. Whether you are in favor of him or against him, whether his thoughts are in your interests or not, his deep thinking, rigorous exposition and the power of logic have always been convincing.”
