On November 9th, the latest ESI data showed that the Physics of Shandong Normal University entered the top 1% of ESI, with a total of 2047 ESI papers published, 20679 citations, and 37 highly cited papers. SDNU ranks 895th among all 899 institutions that have entered the top 1% of ESI physics globally, marking SDNU’s high academic influence in physics internationally. Adding to the previous disciplines such as Chemistry, Engineering, Plant and Animal Science, Materials Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Environment/Ecology, and Social Sciences,General, a total of 9 disciplines of SDNU have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings.
The Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is a basic analytical and evaluation tool for measuring scientific research performance and tracking scientific development trends internationally. At present, ESI has become one of the important evaluation indicators commonly used worldwide to evaluate the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, and countries/regions. ESI covers 22 disciplinary areas and is updated every two months (monthly). The coverage period of this ESI statistical data is from January 1st, 2013 to August 31st, 2023.
