On September 15th, the opening ceremony of the 2023 freshmen of Shandong Normal University was held in Changqinghu Campus. Leaders Feng Jikang, Zhang Jian, Wan Guangxia, Zhou Jing, Xu Shuangqing, Zhang Maocong, Cai Yangjian, Zhou Shanshan, Wang Zeguang, and Li Na attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Wan Guangxia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDNU.

President Zhang Jian, on behalf of SDNU, warmly welcomed all new students and introduced SDNU's profound historical heritage, good cultural environment, and outstanding achievements in recent years. He felt extremely proud to be able to study, work, and live in SDNU. He said that today is the starting point for new students to become SDNUers, and they also see new hope and new future from the new students.
Lv Wenming, a representative of young teachers and president of Qilu Cultural Research Institute, Yang Hanting, a representative of outstanding young alumni and researcher at the School of Brain Science Transformation at Fudan University delivered speeches.
At the ceremony, Sun Kaili, Lu Yuqi, Qi Xinyu, Dong Yutong, Sun Zhe and Zhang Kai, the student representatives presented speeches in a novel form of dialogue between old and new students, which expressed a beautiful vision and planning outlook for university life, and issued a youthful call for the inheritance of SDNU’s spirit.
