On June 19th, Deng Xingwang, Director of the Modern Agriculture Institute at Peking University and academician of the American Academy of Sciences, visited SDNU. Feng Jikang, Zhang Maocong, and Zheng Yuanjie met with him in Changqinghu Campus. The two sides had discussions and exchanges on talent cultivation and laboratory construction in Shandong Province.
Feng Jikang warmly welcomed Deng Xingwang's delegation, and briefly introduced the development and discipline construction of SDNU. He pointed out that expanding communication and cooperation, enhancing educational strength, are important means and effective ways to promote the construction of high-level disciplines and talent cultivation work in SDNU. He hoped that both sides further strengthen exchanges and visits, actively promote substantive cooperation, and make greater contributions to accelerating the construction and development of the biological discipline based on the principles of resource sharing, complementary advantages, and win-win cooperation. Feng Jikang awarded Deng Xingwang the appointment letter of visiting professor of Shandong Normal University.
Deng Xingwang expressed appreciation for SDNU's educational achievements and high-level discipline construction, and briefly introduced the international first-class scientific research platform, talent team, and important scientific research achievements established by the Modern Agriculture Institute at Peking University with the support of Peking University and the People's Government of Shandong Province. He hoped that both sides strengthen cooperation in talent cultivation, discipline construction, and laboratory co-construction in Shandong Province.
During the visit, Deng Xingwang and his delegation visited the research platform and affiliated facilities of the School of Life Sciences.
