On June 5th, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Central Civilization Office, and Shandong Provincial Government held the National Environmental Day Conference in Jinan. Sun Jinlong, Secretary of the Party Group of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Lin Wu, Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, and Zhang Hongsen, Secretary of the Party Group of the Chinese Writers' Association, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Zhou Naixiang, Deputy Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Shandong Province, delivered a speech, Ge Huijun, Chairman of Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the conference. Ouyang Delong, a teacher from the School of Geography and Environment of SDNU, was awarded the title of 2023 top 100 Most Beautiful Ecological Environment Volunteers and was invited to participate in the conference as the only representative of Shandong Province's individual award and receive the award on stage.
After the ceremony, Ouyang Delong was interviewed by Shandong TV station, and he said in the interview that, volunteers have devoted themselves to the public welfare undertakings of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, and actively carried out over a hundred ecological and environmental education campaigns in communities, towns, and primary and secondary schools.
