On June 4th, the third "National Defense Cup" military skills competition and military recruitment campaign launch ceremony of SDNU was held in Changqinghu Cmpus. Wan Guangxia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDNU, and Li Jingjin, Colonel Minister of the People's Armed Forces Department of Changqing District, attended the ceremony.

Wan Guangxia pointed out in his speech that this military skills competition and military recruitment campaign is not only a solid measure for SDNU to carry out national defense education, but also a mobilization and launch of the new year's summer conscription work, It is also a vivid national defense education class. He hoped that students can further enhance their national defense awareness, improve their military skills, consciously engage in the practice of realizing the "Chinese Dream" and "Strong Military Dream", and aspire to be good young people of the new era who have ideals, are willing to take on responsibilities, can endure hardships, and are willing to strive.

Li Jingjin affirmed SDNU's conscription, national defense education, and student military training work, and called on outstanding young students to firmly put their determination to serve the country in the military into action.

During the launch ceremony, the deputy secretaries of school (department) awarded flags to the participating teams and watched the military performances of Shandong Normal University,Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qilu University of Technology, as well as Shandong Jiaotong University. Liu Zihan from the School of Mathematics and Statistics of SDNU delivered a speech on behalf of all the participating team members.

This competition consists of 80 contestants from 20 representative teams. After intense competition, the School of Physical Education, School of Chinese Language and Literature, and School of Mathematics and Statistics ultimately won the first prize.
