On April 21st, the International forum on Yellow River Culture and Chinese Civilization, a sub forum of the World Conference on the Cooperation and Development of Sea Entrance Cities, was held in Dongying, Shandong. The forum is hosted by Shandong Normal University, the People's Government of Dongying City, and the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education. More than 80 scholars from domestic and foreign universities and research institutions attended the forum. Tang Zhouyan, a member of the Party Group of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference , Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, Wang Zhimin, former Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Senior Professor of Shandong Normal University, Zeng Qingliang, President of Shandong Normal University, Zhou Xuanlong, Executive Director and Party Secretary of Zhonghua Bookstore, Lin Haibin, Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Committee Foreign Affairs Office, and Wang Xiufeng, Vice Mayor of Dongying City People's Government, attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wan Guangxia, Vice President of Shandong Normal University.

Tang Zhouyan pointed out in his speech that the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin are crucial for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. As a social science worker, we must actively serve the national strategy of the Yellow River, effectively answer the "question of the times" of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, explore new models for the research and inheritance of Yellow River culture, tell the "Yellow River story" of the new era, promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations, expand the international influence of Yellow River culture and Chinese civilization, and set an example in protecting, inheriting, and promoting Yellow River culture, provide Chinese experience and contribute to the high-quality development of major river basins in the world.

Zeng Qingliang introduced the history and educational achievements of Shandong Normal University, pointing out that the understanding of the status and role of the Yellow River culture in Chinese and world civilizations is of great significance for promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning, enhancing the international dissemination efficiency of the Yellow River culture, and promoting the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.

Lin Haibin focused on introducing the achievements of the World Conference on the Cooperation and Development of Sea Entrance Cities. Wang Xiufeng gave a detailed introduction to the economic and social development of Dongying City, as well as the important achievements made in implementing ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.

The keynote report was presided over by Lv Wenming, Director of Qilu Culture Research Institute at Shandong Normal University. Scholars at home and abroad, including Wang Zhimin, Zhou Xuanlong, Su Ruilong, Cheng Youwei, Zhao Congcang, Sun Bo and Han Yili have put forward constructive suggestions on implementing the major national strategy of the Yellow River and continuing to carry out research on the Yellow River culture. In the round table forum segment, participating experts conducted in-depth dialogue and exchange around the conference theme, jointly discussed the development plan for the protection of the Yellow River, and proposed suggestions for the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.

During the forum, the Yellow River Culture Research Center of Shandong Normal University was unveiled and established, and a donation ceremony for the "Yellow River Culture Overview" was held. The Qilu Culture Research Institute of Shandong Normal University and the Foreign Affairs Office of Dongying City signed a "Think Tank Cooperation Framework Agreement", and the two sides will conduct in-depth cooperation around serving the national strategy of the Yellow River.
