From March 7th to 11th, President Zeng Qingliang led a delegation to Russia for a visit at the invitation of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. During the visit, the delegation held discussions with Russian Normal University on major issues of exchanges and cooperation, reached an important consensus on cooperation and signed a new supplementary agreement. The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Russia, the Consulate General in St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Board of Education and attended the Confucius classroom Council in St. Petersburg.

In his speech at the welcoming ceremony held by Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, Zeng Qingliang expressed sincere thanks and respect for the efforts and outstanding contributions made by Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia to the cooperation between the two universities. He said that the approval of Herzen International Art College is an event of great significance in the history of exchange and cooperation between the two universities. The college will undertake the mission of realizing strong cooperation between the two universities in the field of art, speeding up mutually beneficial cooperation of high-quality educational resources and talents, and actively promoting the international training of talents, teacher exchanges, joint construction of disciplines, cooperative scientific research and so on. He said that the two sides will strengthen the cooperation, jointly create a win-win situation, contribute to a better future, and make due contributions to strengthening Sino-Russian educational cooperation and promoting Sino-Russian cultural and artistic exchanges.

Tarasov Sergey Valentinovich, president of Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, extended a warm welcome to Zeng Qingliang's visit. He said that the approval of the establishment of Herzen International Art College on the occasion of the 225th anniversary of the founding of Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia is an important achievement of the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between the two countries, and is of great significance to Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. He said that the partnership between the two universities has entered a new stage, and the two sides will work together to formulate a new curriculum plan, strengthen academic exchanges, jointly carry out teaching, and reach a new supplementary agreement to jointly promote the common development of humanism, education and creative exchanges between Russia and China.

Zeng Qingliang signed a new supplementary agreement with President Tarasov Sergey Valentinovich. The delegation visited the library, the School of Music, Drama and Dance, and the Academy of Fine Arts Education, and watched performances specially arranged for the delegation.
